We also recommend users set up more than one device as a 2nd factor authentication method with Duo. If the device you use to authenticate with runs on Android 8, 9, or iOS 13 we recommend upgrading to the latest iOS or Android version. Duo Mobile will continue to be fully supported on iOS 14, Android 10, or newer.Phone callback authentication is not affected by this change.Duo Mobile-generated passcodes will also continue to work on already-installed versions of the app, and users will continue to be able to authenticate.Duo Push will continue to work on already-installed versions of Duo Mobile on Android 8, Android 9, or iOS 13, and users will continue to be able to authenticate.Users cannot download the latest version of Duo Mobile on mobile devices running on Android 8 or 9 or iOS 13.Mobile devices using Android 8 or 9 or iOS 13 will no longer receive Duo Mobile maintenance fixes or security updates.This limits CSU IT staff’s ability to escalate issues. The Duo product support team will no longer be able to troubleshoot issues with Duo Mobile running on Android 8, Android 9, iOS 13 or older.To anticipate these OS deprecations, Duo will no longer support Duo Mobile on Android 8 or 9 and iOS 13. As part of these release cycles, older Android and iOS operating systems on mobile devices stop receiving important updates and go through end-of-service and end-of-life phases. Google and Apple deploy new operating systems as major releases every year. However, no support or troubleshooting will be available if issues are encountered. It is recommended that users upgrade to the latest iOS or Android version. Users will continue to be able to authenticate. As of February 9, 2023, the Duo Mobile app no longer supports Android 8, Android 9, and iOS 13. ![]()
